Coaching and mentoring
Be progressiveMaximising your potential
The purpose of the coaching relationship is to support each client in exploring and achieving goals, deal with challenges and maximise career potential in the short- and long-term. Each client/organisation sets the coaching agenda with typical topics such as:
- Identifying, examining and evaluating goals and how best to achieve them
- Reviewing development and how to overcome barriers to progress
- Reviewing attitude, approach and behaviour and potential changes that will help you fulfil your ambitions
- Identifying strengths and weaknesses and how to better use your personal resources
- Problem solving
- Improving the way you work so that you get the rewards you deserve.
Style of coaching
Using a range of tools and techniques to encourage discussion, honest evaluation and positive change, our style of coaching is conversational, outcome-focused and holistic with the aim of helping clients find new perspectives, understandings and choices in a confidential and safe environment.
Observing professional coaching standards
A member of the European Mentoring and Coaching council (EMCC), achieving high professional standards is an essential part of our coaching work including:
1. Commitment to continuous improvement
For example, Director Frances Dredge has been coaching and mentoring individuals and teams for several years – originally in senior management positions in global organisations and more recently through her own business. She is committed to continual professional development to ensure increasingly high competence levels, most recently gaining the Institute of Leadership and Management’s highest qualification for coaching and mentoring.
Crucially, we always measure our standards through client results and feedback with typical comments such as: “I haven’t felt so inspired for years. I now feel much more able to take the action that I need to.”
2. Ethical commitment
Integral to our work, our code of ethics:
- observes the ‘The Global Code of Ethics’ for Coaches, Mentors and Supervisors’ and the EMCC’s ‘Professional Charter for Coaching and Mentoring’
- commits to diversity and inclusion
- protects the client by working with them to produce a suitable coaching contract before coaching starts
- supports our professional coaching values of empathy, excellence, inspiration and integrity.
Frances really gets me. She understands the challenges I’m facing and has helped me make the difficult decisions necessary for progression.
